Funding

How We Are Funded

The Sourcing Institute Foundation, Inc. is funded primarily through:
  1. Website Donations. Through this website we accept unsolicited donations from individuals via a merchant account.
  2. Personal Solicitations. Directors leverage their extensive network to personally solicit donations from those acquaintances desiring to assist employed and underemployed individuals in obtaining the skills necessary to achieve gainful and rewarding employment.
  3. Foundation and Government Grants. The Directors actively solicit foundation and government grants provided through state, federal, local, and corporate initiatives that seek to provide individuals with career skills suitable for today’s knowledge-based economy. These grants will tend to target specific groups of individuals such as residents of a certain community, military veterans, minorities, and other groups that may benefit from the training offered by The Sourcing Institute Foundation.

Funds are NOT disbursed directly to award recipients.
The Foundation provides grants to individuals in amounts ranging from $400 to $1,500, with the average amount being $799. The Foundation pays The Sourcing Institute, Inc. and similar organizations directly on behalf of award recipients for training materials and curriculum content to be provided to them at rates below the retail rate charged to corporate customers and private individuals.

Where The Money Goes

It is The Sourcing Institute Foundation’s intention to use all funds available after expenses for grant-making. No part of the Foundation's net earnings directly benefits or is distributable to our members, trustees, officers, or other private persons. Most of the funding received from other foundations and government grants include directives on how the funds are to be used. Funding received that does not include specific directives, and funds raised through personal solicitations or website donations, are used by the recipient to complete coursework leading to credentialing as a professional Sourcer or Recruiter and so they may seek entry-level employment in the recruiting industry.

A small portion (typically less than 20%) of our funds are directed towards operating expenses in furtherance of our purposes. These may include:
  • Equipment and supply purchases
  • Reasonable compensation for employees and for services rendered
  • Payments and distributions in conformance with applicable laws, and that do not jeopardize the nonprofit status of the organization, or harm the reputation of the organization.

The Sourcing Institute Foundation neither solicits nor accepts donor-advised funds that do not satisfy the conditions stated above.
