Sourcing and Recruiting is well suited for people with disabilities because:
- Learning, speech and language disabilities are no obstacle to being successful as a recruiter because those with speaking challenges may have no difficulty writing, and those with reading or writing challenges may have not difficulty speaking.
- People who are blind or have low vision can recruit effectively on the phone, and in fact many can read documents up to 55 words per minute.
- People who are deaf or hard-of-hearing can become highly proficient at sourcing and online research, an important component of the recruitment process.
- Medical or physical disabilities may impede mobility, making it difficult or uncomfortable for people to get around, but this is work that can be done virtually so they can work from a familiar environment free of any hardships.
