Reka Kiss is a military spouse currently stationed in a rural area in the Southeast which would normally limit her access to traditional in-office corporate job positions. However, she works with a company, MadSkills, which was founded by military spouses and pairs remote workers with companies. She reached out to the Foundation to improve her sourcing and recruiting skills. “I was very honored to receive the scholarship from TSI and complete the Sourcing and Recruiting Diploma. The diploma has helped me also to have a better understanding about the US market, since I have worked in Europe before.”
Completing the Diploma in Sourcing & Recruiting has enabled her to continue to work in HR and also remotely. One feature of the program that Reka appreciated was the regular progress check-ins that allowed for practice and Q & A sessions. “Through the program they matched a mentor for me, who was very encouraging and always making sure I was on track and could complete it successfully.” Aaron linsonI AM EXCITED TO BE MORE EMPLOYABLE BY HAVING ANOTHER ACCOMPLISHMENT UNDER MY BELT.
Aaron Linson is a native of Louisville Kentucky, he is an entrepreneur, and founded Linson Productions, LLC and has been legally blind since birth with an eye condition known as Retinopathy of Prematurity.
His medical practitioners were very doubtful that Aaron would lead a successful and fulfilling life; however, Aaron surpassed all expectations and graduated high school and went on to attend Indiana University Southeast College. Aaron's background is in music with a concentration in audio production. His quest for learning new skills brought him to The Sourcing Institute Foundation. He completed our Internship Program and is employed as a Sourcer at Talentric, LLC.. ROXANA VAN MOURIKTHE TRAINING HAS HELPED ME IN GETTING AN OVERALL BETTER VIEW OF THE SOURCING INDUSTRY.
Roxana van Mourik holds a master’s degree and resides in the Netherlands with her husband, toddler, and guide dog. Her background is in recruiting and she currently works in one of the largest banks in The Netherlands, Rabobank, as a sourcer.
One of the challenges for Roxana has been finding effective strategies to convince passive candidates to join her team at Rabobank. After going through the TSIF Diploma program and receiving her accreditation, she has become more confident and better equipped to overcome this challenge. As a result, her skills as a sourcer have greatly improved! melissa ShawI REALLY NEEDED TO EXPAND MY CAREER TRAJECTORY.
At the tender age of 9, Melissa Shaw was diagnosed with a brain tumor which left her visually impaired. Melissa developed a knack for writing code and aspired to a career in web design, however, she was able to find only temporary employment, which frustrated her very much. She was interested in recruiting, especially sourcing and applying her program experience in a completely different way: in finding people, instead of writing code.
The change finally came in 2018 when she participated in the second pilot program sponsored by The Sourcing Institute Foundation, Project Starfish America, the State of Vermont, and Orion Global Talent. She successfully completed the pilot and graduated, receiving her TSI Diploma in Sourcing and Recruiting. Today, Melissa is happily sourcing with Orion Global Talent! “I also learned many little tips and techniques that would have taken me years to figure out on my own. This training has truly been invaluable to me becoming a sourcer." |
